Launglata
About Launglata
Launglata is a Banarasi classic — a crisp, deep-fried pastry parcel stuffed with sweetened khoya, folded and sealed shut with a single clove (the "laung" that gives it its name). Fried to a deep golden brown and lightly dipped in sugar syrup, it's a texture-lover's sweet: crunchy shell, soft centre.
How It's Made
We roll out a simple flour dough, fill it with sweetened khoya, and fold it into a flat parcel sealed with a whole clove. Each piece is deep-fried in small batches until golden, then given a light syrup dip for shine and sweetness. Made fresh to order, never held for days before packing.
Customer Reviews
Tastes exactly like the peda we used to get in Varanasi as kids. Not overly sweet, and the texture is spot on. Ordered a second box within the week.
Ordered for a family function, arrived well packed and fresh. Everyone asked where I got it from. Will reorder for Diwali.
Good taste, slightly sweeter than I expected but still very good quality. Delivery was quick, within 3 days.
