Sri Annapurna – The Goddess of Food. As per mythology, nobody sleeps hungry in the city of Varanasi because of her blessings.
Inspired by the blessings of Sri Annapurna, the Goddess of Food, our journey began in 2000 with a clear mission: to offer Varanasi an authentic South-Indian dining experience that harmonizes swaad (taste) with swasthya (health). Founded by Mr. Ravi Shankar Jhunjhunwala, we started modestly—just 800 sq. ft., 2 chefs, and 4 staff—but with grand aspirations.
Over the years, we’ve transformed into a culinary haven, providing more than just South-Indian cuisine. From delightful sweets and North Indian specialties to Continental dishes and freshly baked goods from our bakery, we’ve become a go-to destination for food enthusiasts. Last year, we took a significant step by launching a multi-cuisine venue under one roof—a place where you can enjoy restaurant meals, browse our sweet shop, and savor artisanal bakery items, all in one visit.
Today, 25 years later, Sri Annapurna stands as a culinary landmark, cherished by both locals and tourists. With over 200 employees and a dedication to quality, consistency, and hygiene, we’ve built a legacy that honors flavor, health, and tradition.
Here’s to 25 years of not just serving meals, but creating memories.
